After a lengthy holiday, work on ASterion has begun again and more importantly work on Vitavia which is a new brand of Greenhouses and Garden accessories. An entire branding suite including compliment slips, letter head and business card have already been produced. Sights have now been set on the website which is gathering pace. Robbie I Hutchinson has gone live. This is the first photography site completed by ASterion. The site itself utilises a javascript based technology called Lightbox which enables the user to view the pics in user controlled slideshow. There were better ways to produce this website but the end user wanted to update the website himself so it had to be produced in a simple way. View the website now at www.robbieihutchinson.com.
A new project for a new month - this time, a photography site. Its currently Under Construction but will be up by the end of the week. This is an exciting new project for ASterion because photography websites are very common so they need to be special to be distinct. The addition of Lightbox technology will definately set this apart from the rest of the pack. It looks so sleek and has the ability to customise the appearance to fit the style of the website. No, not the news you expected to hear on a date such as the 29th February, but WGK Gloves is complete. This is ASterion's first website which contains a flash intro and a contact form to protect against SPAM. Other features include an icon in the address bar - a neat little touch which is actually quite simple. On to the next project.

One week of downtime due to a dead hard drive. The upgrade to Leopard and the use of Time Machine has become priceless.
I thought this was just a throwaway feature of Leopard, being able to search through older versions of your system to find previously deleted files. But the installation of a new hard drive meant that a complete system restore would have to take place. 1 hour later and not only were my files restored, everything was restored to how it was before the first death in ASterion's Apple Applications, perhaps I'm working too hard.
Work has begun on a new website for Church's Bistro Bar. At the moment, preliminary designs are looking good but and will hopefully be approved this week. There are some great ideas for functionality but some research will have to be done because I'm not sure I have the capability yet. A few more books will have to be bought! Waterstones are getting a lot of business out of me!
ASterion has launched and I've got a busy schedule ahead to build on an already varied portfolio. I've got a passion for web and print design and although I've got a lot to learn, this is the best way forward.
Yes, there are a lot of better designers out there but I hope to offer a unique and affordable service whilst simultaneously gaining the experience to further my career in this field.
